Yes, he wasn't too happy. He had a blood vessel burst in his ear and had it drained and stitched up then wrapped up. He looked so funny but sad.

I think this would have been better if the pinecone was more offset - ie using the rule of thirds for composition. But thats just my feeling. Having it central can also make more of a 'I'm here !' effect of the subject.

The Tower of Hercules (Galician and Spanish: Torre de Hércules) is an ancient Roman lighthouse on a peninsula about 2.4 kilometers (1.5 mi) from the centre of A Coruña, Galicia, in north-western Spain. Until the 20th century, the tower itself was known as the "Farum Brigantium". The Latin word farum is derived from the Greek pharos for the Lighthouse of Alexandria. The structure is 55 metres (180 ft) tall and overlooks the North Atlantic coast of Spain. The structure, almost 1900 years old and rehabilitated in 1791, is the oldest Roman lighthouse in use today. There is a sculpture garden featuring works by Pablo Serrano and Francisco Leiro.[2]
The Tower of Hercules is a National Monument of Spain, and since June 27, 2009, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.[3] It is the second tallest lighthouse in Spain, after the Faro de Chipiona. (5 years and 2439 days ago)

I think it would be more effective if the boots were "walking into" the picture rather than "walking out"?
Could be, but some people get touchy if you mess with their stuff so you can take a picture. This is the way they were sitting there and there was distracting stuff on the left. Thanks for the comment, though.
