Oh dear... I am very sorry to say this, but this HDR treatment is REALLY not doing the image justice. The photo is very flat, lacks contrast. I don't think that HDR suits portraiture.
I would love to see this image in normal color or maybe even in a high contrast Black and White.
I agree. HDR is definitely not suitable for this kind of shot. Im sure it was great before. GL !
I'm not sure that I agree with the last two comments completely. I like the way HDR looks on older peoples skin, the background is too busy for B&W, if you converted it the woman would be lost amongst the crap behind her and make the whole image very flat. I think this photo could stand to be cropped a bit nicer but other than that I like it
I think it would look okay with HDR, but not to this extent.
Have you tried cropping it so it cuts into the back/top of her head (to remove the basket)? I think this would help. I do like the HDR on this subject.
I agree with Bartoszwozniak. I will hold my vote to see if there is any changes.
I thought it was a little over-saturated myself. It might look better in grayscale as Bart suggested.

Well he used to be until the neighbors Pit Bulls killed him a year ago :(
Either way we had him and this was taken with my canon camera that looks like my NOW digital Canon camera except it used 35mm film. I worked in a 1-hr photo lab which is where I got into photography so mommy bought me that first cool camera :) (5 years and 3449 days ago)
Just to let everyone know... I read the book on the 35mm and it had a "double-exposure" instruction part on it so I practiced. Had no idea what they would look like until I developed them and this is the ONLY one that turned out. I didn't know a thing about the camera and the special things it did like I do now but rather was just playin with what the book said to do on certain things and hoped for the best. This was a total accident but I was glad it turned out. Been a favorite since over 12yrs ago!
nice job with the double exposure, and thank you for explaining how you did this. its a beautiful picture.
omg.. I would have KILLED for a double exposure to turn out this great.. good job author.. I'm glad to be apart of it
Truly lovely photo ... what a sweet face and the capture is great. It is a great photo of the cat all by itself but the fact that it is a double exposure makes it a multi-winner IMO. Just love it ... sorry about the pit bull (I have 2 cats and know how much I would miss them).
Nice entry! GL!

In the days before photo-shop and digital....it all had to be done by trial and error and hand....here is an example of old school zoom-technique from 1990...shot on 35mm color film (5 years and 3451 days ago)
what fun, but the wait to see the results weren't.
