I have had this for longer than I can remember it came from my grandmothers house, perhaps even her mothers.
It was certainly dirty and dusty, but this contest got it all shined up. (5 years and 2959 days ago)
this is an old precision balance that belongs to our family since the beginning of last century .. (5 years and 2959 days ago)
You have oblivious given some thought to this photo, but I suggest you reshoot. Try to get the whole of the scales in the image. I'm not sure the mirror makes the best background, at least not when it's only reflecting a small part of the scales. Good Luck
Ok, thanks friiskiwi ... I know what you mean .. I'll try to keep the mirror (I like it) but to improve the quality of the reflection. I hope to do in time .. during the holidays, the days are very busy!
But it will not be unfair to those who have already voted?
I mean, is allowed to change a picture and not just cut or adjust lighting and contrast? If this is possible I try ..
You are allowed to make changes to the photo or to take an other photo and replace this one. I know what you mean about the voting, but it's O.K. After all this site is very much about learning.
Good Luck

This was a piece of furniture I have actually searching for, for years and finally found it at an old estate sale in Red Wing, Wisconsin..It is a true antique with the serial number and all. Was so excited for my find! (5 years and 2959 days ago)
A beautiful piece of furniture, just wish you had got a better setting for the photo and not used such a hard flash.

This is part of a vanity set that was given to me a couple of decades ago. It was handed through three generations of women. I cannot bring myself to shine it up and take away its "aged look" (5 years and 2959 days ago)

These lanterns are fueled with kerosene. Use before the introduction of electricity in the village.
Today are fully functional. (5 years and 2960 days ago)
Some cropping to put more focus on the lamps would be good, IMO.
Thank you, friiskiwi!
I wanted a bit of atmosphere ... I am ready and a variant (different picture) that appear only lanterns ... I finally decided to do this.
Fair enough, just a suggestion
C entered subjects work well for some images, though with the dead space on the right and (trash can?), lid on the left, a slightly tighter cropping showing saw blade, hay, and lanterns would have worked better for my liking. Nice photo just the same, and since you've decided not to edit further, I'll vote now.
Thank you, Cache Slinger!
