Having grown up in the 50th and 60th, the opening and demolition of the Berlin Wall in 1989, was to me a real sign of FREEDOM.

This was made by my son in a pottery class, and it had been fired and was handed to me when I returned to the pottery classes about 6 month after his death. (5 years and 3206 days ago)
Well then that makes it priceless.
Wow...amazing to hear the story behind this piece...It does make it priceless as "Mad" has said. It is a beautiful piece of pottery...thankyou for sharing author.
So sorry to hear that, how sad..

I am very happy it said no "living" creatures. As this is how I keep this, my grandfathers pocket watch displayed in my home. On the old bull skull.
Its very tarnished, but I like it that way. (5 years and 3248 days ago)
Beautiful photo of a precious keepsake. And I love the way you display this at home! Well done.
Very nice! I love this as a display. My husband has his grandfather's pocket watch, my home is decorated Western so all I need is a skull!
Thanks both of you. The skull I found in the sand hills of South Dakota on vacation. I see many for sale at antique malls, but most are painted.
My home is very old west themed too,
Is the pocket watch on theme?
It seems to have very few votes for so many visits. Is that OK?
I am so not the person that can answer that question...I am sure that if it is off theme...you will hear from a MOD...I do know people that consider their watches jewelry ... but anyway it is a beautifully done photo! GL
your grandpa must have been very young, this appears to be a modern quartz pocket watch like the type found in many souvenir shops here where I live............. My guess is, that the metal is of a copper brown color, the pattern is inlaid darker, and the whole item has been laquered.
Its a reproduction obviously! Hence Quartz. And yes it was passed on from him to me!
My grandfather was 83 when he passed in 2004. Whats your trip man?
No where did I say its 100 years old. but its value to me is far more than you will ever understand!!!
Further more, if you are to comment, comment on the quality of the photo.
NOT the quality of the watch.
chill out man.........I made an observation, that is all.
I'm chilled...I'm not certain what the point to your observation was. It is irrelevant at this time.
As I prefer not to hold any grudges, nor have feelings of negativity. There is too much of that in today's society as it is. I fall into it myself at times. Which displeases me about my own self.
On a positive note..Peace be with you, and constructive criticism is welcome as always.
and also with you............. it is a pretty good capture by the way.
In my opinion, the shot is on topic as watches are (also) sold in jewelry shops.
Very nice image and feelings. Bravo!
Beautiful
Adding the sandstone to the background was a nice touch! Well done! GL!
Thanks, The background is an old cattle skull.
Ah now that I look at it closer I see it! Still a nice touch! GL!
master piece author...well done

Very cool.
Wow, what a piece of history!
Very good symbol of freedom, but it looks like it may have been over-sharpened just a touch (or, there's a good possibility it's just my eyes)
