Next time you set up a composition be careful with some small details f.e
The corner of he table on the left side of your frame.
It would be better if the "horizon" was across the background (would be technically correct).
All so include the top & the bottom of the pills pile IMHO.
done!!
i don't know if its my monitor or what, but i noticed when ya scroll this pic up or down, the pile wiggles and shakes. A pulsating pile of prescription pills if you will.
It's not just your monitor. That's actually a pretty cool illusion!

I like the composition, but IMO more DOF would make it better! Good luck
ha!... if I only knew how to play with DOF....
DOF is all a matter of the f-stop, f5.6 will let in more light, but only a small area is sharp. f11 will let in less light and give a deeper depth of field. When you focus on something it will be sharp 1/3 infront of that point and 2/3 behind. How deep the focus is depends on your f-stop, lens and distance from the subject.
a perfect 'laymans' explanation Kiwi........
I agree with the DOF. It just takes some practice. I myself have a hard time with it but you have a great shot here to work with. Nice idea
Thanks friiskiwi! I really appreciate your help but I'd prefer you could come to my place and teach me directly...
By the way, i forgot to tell you I'm using a digital Sony DSC-S90 4.1 mega pixels MPEGMOVIE vx bought few centuries ago.... I'm not so sure I could squeeze much more from this camera....
IF I were to buy a new one, what would you all suggest keeping in mind I'm not a professional and that I would like to always have the camera with me (i.e. NOT over one ton and NO longer than 2-3 meters.... )
Author, I'd suggest you post (or have a look) in the photography forum. While I'm here though, you might want to consider a 'bridge' camera as a beginner. Most of the functions of a big DSLR but no need to change lenses and much smaller. I have the Nikon P90 and it does a decent job.
sorry everybody, I had forgotten about the forum, in any case THANKS, at least now I know what category of cameras I have to look at.
Get one with interchangeable lenses, at a minimum
You gave a whole new meaning to the snow white fairytale lol

it seems a bit out of focus to me but the layout is great! I'd also tilt the picture to the left some but of course it's all imo.
Nice subject but you need to upload bigger jpgs so we can see some detail in high res..
Your photo is out of focus. I would definitely suggest re-shooting and try to focus in on just the pills. Also, try a different background. The room in the background distracts from the subject a lot.

I think this may be the first time I've laughed out loud in three days.
Thanks. I have to laugh so I don't cry.
