Well it's an excellent shot of a "planet", but I would try to fix the lens flare above the "star"

I think the lens flare add to the photo that why i left this "small detail" as it is.

Those fuzzy bits look like fog to me. Where was this taken? (Nice job!)

The "fuzzy bits" are indeed fog, you can also see it in the back left corner. This was taken in the studio and the fog is from an ultrasonic fogger.
