To avoid having an oval planet you must resize the original image in square before applying the "rectangular to polar" filter.
Don't disrespect oval planets. We are all special and unique in our own ways.
There are still some people nowadays believe that we live on flat Earth, (I should've made one).

Fragile little planet here encased in loving hues of life....peachy orange excitiing colours. I think you need to clone out the seam.
