You've used well the rule of third horizontaly, but why didn't you places the wind turbine on a third line ?

author says:

the wind turbine IS in 1/3 of the picture. I don't believe it has to fall exactly on a line to fall under rules of thirds.

Excuse me author but, or I am blind, or I'm very bad in geometry, but if you cut your picture with 3 verticaly and equaliy positionned lines, your main subject (at least the thing that catch the eye) is absolutely not on a third line ! And excuse me again author but the rule of thirds is justly to put the strongs elements of your picture on those lines. So, in a normal contest, no matter where your mill is placed but here, in a "rule of third" contest, I think it might have been better to use it to compose your photo.

author says:

"Points of interest in the photo don't have to actually touch one of these lines to take advantage of the rule of thirds.[citation needed] For example, the brightest part of the sky near the horizon where the sun recently set does not fall directly on one of the lines, but does fall near the intersection of two of the lines, close enough to take advantage of the rule." ...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds

Ok, so let's watch the link ... On the picture you're talking about in you wikipedia link, isn't the tree placed on a line ? Can't we compare your wind mill to the tree ? And in the picture under ... aren't they showing "A picture cropped without and with the rule of thirds" ?

Well ... Ok author, I don't insist ... It's your picture, do what you want with it. It was just an advice, just wanted to help. Never mind. Good luck !
