A Stream by my house with rocks covered in moss (5 years and 3593 days ago)
Every one of these rocks was covered in moss...that's what caught my attention. (5 years and 3594 days ago)
the long exposure time has affected parts of this shot in a strange way. the face of the large rock to the right of the shot has an area which looks like it has been blurred or badly cloned, I am sure it is neither of these, but it looks this way!
cleverly chosen shutter speed
Ade, you are correct, it is neither one of those, if I were to clone something I would have added moss, not taken it away. The anomaly is due to two things, first this is "glacial granite" and has both rough and very smooth surfaces, the moss grows on the rough and not the smoother surfaces for some reason. I you check some of the other rocks carefully you will see this. the second was the sensor. I actually was able to use a point and shoot camera by tricking the camera into a longer shutter speed than it wanted for this scene. the trade off was loss of image detail as the sensors on thos cameras quickly heat up and degrade the image when pushed too hard.
beautiful

a windy night by the beach and this is what you get! (5 years and 3617 days ago)
how did you shoot this....what settings...........and, a hi res would be nice..
Looks like a night shot and you just jiggled the camera as you were shooting. Even in this res, most of it is not in focus.
Well that explains the resolution size BTW, just because an entry is on theme doesn't necessarily mean it's a good image to enter. In the future, take into account all factors of an image for entering, i.e. focus, lighting, etc.
Can we say needs a "tripod"??? Even a cheap old camera can take a great photo if you at least focus and keep it still...there are a couple of artists here that ONLY use a P&S and win!

the stone is lost in the chippings
I agree - the subject is hard to distinguish andloses its brillance amongst the 'rubble'
Hey, better luck next week, right? Remember, don't give up!
