I would have cropped this so that more of the subject (the sky) dominated the image. The water appears to be the focal point, with the sky almost an after thought.
maybe you're right, but my thought was that the threatening sky is changing colors of the sea

do straighten the horizon
Agree with friiskiwi, the horizon should be straightened. At the moment I keep tilting my head when I look at this image.
