This is one of my experiments with Low Key light. In this shot, i used a torch light as the source of light, set the camera on tripod, manually focused and used the timer. (5 years and 3295 days ago)
Very good job!! I like the lighting.
Nice, though I think you should crop it to frame it somewhat off-center. Just my opinion.

DOF - depth of field ib, see how the left side is defocused? It draws you into the subject that is in focus, in this case the author's portrait, and overall gives more depth to the photo.
