This would have been a great shot for HDR, to get all the foreground detail, like the framing and nice use of the CPL...GL

i was not allowed to enter the hdr contest due to being new to this site! but ill give it a go, and up load it to my profile

It's alright, sometimes HDR's are entered into other contests, it's a technique like exposure blending that is allowed. Just try not to overdo the saturation levels for a landscape and you should get a great result.

The saturation looks a little overcooked in the sky

Sky looks ok, probably appears OS because of the dark shadowed area.
