These are deep fried water bugs. You break off the wings and chow down on a crunchy exoskeleton and gooey mushroom tasting mess inside which squirts out into your mouth covering the mucosal membrane with a cloying fungal taste that stays with you for the rest of the day and night. Then in the morning, you wake up with water bug breath and that will cause your dog to disappear for a week and your partner for 6 months. JK !

Your comments thoroughly amused me. I am amazed at what some people actually eat. The bugs sound disgusting. Have you ever eaten any of them? I can't even imagine eating those things. They look too much like cockroaches to me.

author says:

No I have not had the courage to try these bugs. I have eaten grasshoppers in Mexico. Didn't like em much and was picking out grasshopper legs from my teeth for days....at least that is what it felt like.

This food is usually offered in tea shops as a snack. It is simply to die for. My husband has taken a bite out of his Suseyam and I present it to you.
