The Spring Snowflake flowers one or two weeks later than the Common Snowdrop, i.e. from mid-February to March, as soon as the snow melts in its wild habitat. (5 years and 2814 days ago)

It was 33 degrees this morning, and a heavy snow squall hit just as I was trying to make this shot. You can see fine white lines caused by the snowflakes swirling around this pocket in my rock garden. If you look closely, you can see one flake on the front-bottom petal; the snow almost instantly melts when it hits the warmer plant growth. That's March; the first flowers to tease you, but winter is not yet over. (5 years and 2815 days ago)
