The life of a crocus begins as it burst out it's newly grown petals. (5 years and 943 days ago)
Lovely
thank you so much!
For me this picture does not represent a beginning, these are just open flowers...
Okay, but they did JUST come up.
They are among the first spring flowers in northern hemisphere
I just wanted to say that a flower still closed would have better matched about this contest.
Thanks for your feedback guys!
This really speaks of new beginnings. The fact you had to lay down on your stomach to get this shot, so close to the ground propels it to the top of the class. Your saturation and colour is natural and the blurred foreground really engages the viewer to look inward. Just lovely, a pleasure to study.
PS I was in some garlic fields yesterday and thanks to this shot I tried your technique, so special thank you for inspiring me with your image.
@Still, thank you so much! I really enjoy receiving comments on my photos! I'm really glad I inspired you with this photo!

When snow melts, and spring comes, the geese fly north. (5 years and 947 days ago)
I bet you were excited to capture this photograph. Shot against the sky the geese really pop out nicely and the three is the magic number our brains love. Don't know if you know this but geese mate for life!
Yes, I was very exited to capture this shot. These geese were just flying by when I grabbed my camera and shot this Wow! I didn't know that they mate for life!
Yes, they do. I lived with our Canadian Indians up north and they hunt these geese. It was quite sad when one was shot down the mate would circle and cry and eventually would get shot down too. They make really good eating, dark meat but sometimes you get a shotgun and that will crack your teeth. Now you know

Very pretty, it's hard to get good detail in red flowers, you have got some.

It looks soft but in hi-res it is sharper, glad I looked there. A noble presentation of newness indeed. Strong colours with soft bokeh, and the colour palette of hot red against cold blue punches this image out. Very pleasing to study.
Thank you
