There are 13 primary stones, the tallest of which marks the entrance to a burial cairn. One theory suggests that the stones form a calendar system based on the position of the moon. Local tradition says that giants who lived on the island refused to be converted to Christianity and were turned into stone as a punishment.

I think it works not because it's marble vs stone, but worked stone vs unfinished sone
Marble is calcium carbonate, polished, and, in each case is different from all the stones near
