I attempted to reshoot. I used a cheap macro tube that doesn't have auto-focus or aperture and this is the result. No masking, blur tool or photoshopping was used. (5 years and 2980 days ago)

diamond is almost to sharp compared to the rest of the picture...looks like a mask and some sort of blur was used on the rest of the picture.
