excellent shot, right on theme.............well done, and good luck.
Yup I was guessing you. Based on first impression, you know. This is very nice! The table saw with the wood shavings to show like it was just finished off is a nice touch. GL!
Thanks guys, my wife's grandfather makes these, they are music boxes. He was quite disturbed by my putting those wood shavings in the shot because "a table saw wouldn't make those" it was pretty funny how put out he seemed to be by my "ignorance"

Common myth and belief is that to be a true hangman's knot this knot was to have 13 wraps to properly break the neck of the condemned...this however is untrue. Most commonly it was tied with wet or oiled rope and contained between 6 and 8 wraps. More information can be had at ...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hangman%27s_knot (5 years and 3503 days ago)
That is so freaky.. well done
Good One
and we can even count that there are 13 knots..
Thank you, and yes, I ensured that there were indeed 13 wraps in the knot. I'm certain that if there weren't, you very clever people would have immediately spotted the error...it is good to know that you all were looking closely again!
stunning
Awesome shot, I love the lighting and ingenuity. When I was making a noose for a recent shoot the way to knowledgeable hardware guy informed me that "it's got to have 8 to make it legal" My only question was legal for What?!
nicely done author!!
nicely done author!!
here's an explination Lock...
The number eight is common because that is the bare minimun of 1 inch rope that it takes to break the neck of a 150 pound man. By using 13 loops you can increase the weight to that of 225 pound man. Anything less would not insure correct neck breakage and we woould risk the victim choking to death.
WOW! Thanks westfall, a great explanation and some info I didn't know.
superb capture..............
Thanks for the info westfall, but why on earth do you know that?
I was kinda wondering the same thing...I guess I'll just politely refuse if he offers to "Help" me with my bow-tie....LOL
Awesome shot and good choice! I think ya just might have a winner.
I'm kicking myself now for not thinking of this myself. GL!
Sooo... I have been racking my brain all day trying to figure out how to top this, my conclusion is I can't. Bravo author, I hate you now but bravo.
@ Locks, I'm sorry you feel that way (Not really ) ) and that is likely the best comment I have EVER gotten...did I hear the gauntlet thrown down for a possible future 1 vs 1 contest???
im full of useless info.... or in this case.. usefull?.. lol..
Consider yourself challenged my friend, I only hope that when the results are in and I've crushed your hopes and dreams that you'll try and pull yourself together and continue to get mediocre shots like this one
FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! Let's all meet behind the gym!
Excellent!!......GL
Congrats on your 1st, a stunning entry.

Author, obviously you're new and have yet to read the rules. Entering similar entries is against the rules. It's obvious the previous entry is yours too. I would flag one of them for removal or they'll remove them both. I'd remove this one. The other shows more uniform.
great catch !

Creative thinking. What is that? Some kind of lily?
debdy, it is not off theme at all, the coffee is covering the lilies......! the guideline states....."Whatever the case, take a photo of it and send here! The figure must be clearly visible".......the operative words being...."whatever the case....."
The figure on the left is a lily, yes, while the one on the right is an open-petaled rose. Yes, this is taking the guidelines of the contest to their very limits, but I still feel it is on theme and a creative take on the contest. Thanks for the kudos!
beautiful shot ! bonus marks for originality
Great interpretation of the contest......kudos for creativity....Best of luck to you with this entry!!
Ok I gotta admit this is cool, and I thought I was creative!
