this would probably be really cute but it is very pixelated.
My wife took me to Zion National Park in Utah for my birthday. On one of our trail trips, I chanced upon this father and daughter playing by the river. I had to capture the moment. (5 years and 3543 days ago)

At sunset we all gathered in downtown Colonial Williamsburg to take the after dark ghost tour, a 2 hour story-telling and living history lesson. Mostly all of our vacations are edu-vacations...The guide led the way with a period lantern lit with a hand-made candle. (5 years and 3544 days ago)
Could use a bit of focus
I was actually slow-panning in low light...this is the "look" I was going for.
I have to agree with kyricom. There is no real point of focus in the picture and most of it seems like it's just melting together. At high resolution it's hard to even see the facial expressions of the people.
Personally, I think the image would benefit fit of someone, like the lantern carrying person, being in focus instead of just not being as unfocused as the rest of the picture.
Thank you for your comments...changed photo, same type of shot and such...hope this is better...but the ghostly thing is what I was going for here...just practicing some different techniques. i was getting tired of the same old thing...future submissions of this type should get better as I practice more
For a "ghostly" look I think having the background sharp would work better than it being blurry as well. This way you would get the look you want without sacrificing the interest for the looking eye. To achieve this all you need is a tripod or a stable enough surface area, like a table, where you can put your camera. A longer shutter speed, which allows the background to be sharp but everything that moves in the picture will become blurry.

Much as I asked for the manager's permission to take a few shots, and he, albeit reluctantly, agreed to that, the guy was always half a step behind me, literally breathing down my neck, which unnerved me. But, oh well, you can't have it all now, can you? (5 years and 3544 days ago)
nice shot ! on theme
Funny how thee are so many stores where they won't let you take photos. I usually find the best way, is to not ask and don't use the flash.
nice variety of products
Ah, friiskiwi, no way you can ignore them, lest they call 911, and have you charged with whatever their little heart desires. Also, flash or no flash, chances are that you won't go unnoticed.
I use a wide angle, and point the cam in the general direction I want the shot to be, and take a few 'covert' shots with the cam on my shoulder or hip as if I am just carrying it...
Very nice pic....On theme....Nice trick Ade
Nice trick Ade...thanks for the info, I was going to pass on this contest for fear of being harassed by the authorities for photographing...nicely done author

A macro shot of a the letter "R". (5 years and 3545 days ago)
This is cool.. but it has put your other entry in a problem of anonymity.. Good Luck..
The only reason why I was little hesitant about this. However, it cannot be avoided for this, sadly.
Good Luck..
beautiful but i still prefer the A
iquraishi: Thank you.
Lamantine: Both pictures emit different kind of feeling from them. Myself, I prefer the "A" as well. However, I do like the "R" as well just not the same as the other one.
Since the pictures are "two sides of a coin", anonymity was shot...
Both entries are very nice. It's a shame they are going to both get removed. (unless you flag one of them for removal)
