Home for the holidays, and Mom was baking cookies yesterday. I was watching her load the pan, and she said, "Now here I am, making Oma's (German for Grandma) cookies.." I grabbed the camera. (5 years and 3629 days ago)

This would be better illustrated as "tradition" if, perhaps, an elder was showing a younger how to use it, but as a stand alone image, I don't see tradition. Antique maybe, or obsolete?

Incense:
The first of incense symbolizes prayer, which ascends to the throne of God.
Candles:
It symbolizes the purity of our soul, because it's made of pure beeswax.
Also, the plasticity of our soul, because the more easily we can draw anything.
Even the grace, because the wax from the flowers smell.
Moreover symbol of deification, which should arrive because the wax mixed with fire and feeds.
And the light of Christ also shows, as well as burns and illuminates the darkness.
And finally, symbolizes love and peace that should characterize every Christian, because when the candle burns illuminate, and comforted the man with the light in the darkness. (5 years and 3651 days ago)

If i'm not right this could sound really racist, but it really does look like the "spot" she has between her eyes is just a spraypaint brush in photoshop...
@Ory: Its actually a custom for Hindu women. May be because of the authors editing its looking like spray paint. The red thing is called sindoor.
I agree with Ory, the 'red spot' is not very distinct, I would also crop this photo to a portrait shape.
I have top agree with Ory, the sindoor does not look real.
i was about to say the same thing as friiskiwi... cropping this and giving it some extra oomph with some contrast adjustments would be better than what you've got here.. put more emphasis on the woman you've captured.
