Thanks everyone. Yank, it actually isn't near the equator. I'm from Northern California, but the skies revolve around the north star which can be seen most anywhere. Thanks though.

Duckweed, the green stuff this pelican is swimming in makes for a wonderful emerald colour backdrop for this fine subject. (if you have an aquarium with gold fish, duckweed is also a wonderful fresh fond source they will gobble down and grow bigger from).
I really like the diagonal line your subject leads in from as it parts the weed moving closer. It seems to add to the feeling of motion.

Good work. Nice contrast between the leaves and the concreate. Maybe you can crop a little from the top to remove the part where the grass extends over the concrete.
