This photograph was captured as a summer storm was approaching the coast of New Jersey. There were surfers everywhere! It was amazing watching them as they handpicked the waves they would surf. (5 years and 946 days ago)

You have dust spots on your sensor. Look at the upper right in the sky, mid section as well.

author says:

Thank you for your comment. It's time for a sensor cleaning.

Sunset on the Pacific. The ocean gives me a center I can't really describe. It grounds me in its ever flowing beauty and movement. It is peace to me. (5 years and 1065 days ago)

I like your comment on the ocean and how it infuses peace. As I almost drowned, it does the opposite, infuses fear and more importantly respect. This image is beautiful in colour palette, warm and cool, powerful. I think your compositional style is very good giving strength to the ocean and you caught the wave coming in at us. There is a lot of good movement here. The rays of the sun nicely caught and the photograph is well exposed with good tonal quality. I feel the power with your upload, the power of the ocean and that is the main purpose of photgraphic art...to pull out an emotion. Thank you.

Thank you.

Photo would be greatly improved by cropping closer and straightening the horizon.

author says:

Thanks for the corrective criticism but I usually don't crop and adjust my photos. I will give it a try next time. Again, thanks for the tip.

My eye is also distracted by the crooked ocean horizon instead of the subject.

This is my 1st entry..should I delete it?

(5 years and 1531 days ago)

BeSea says:

Oh no, of course not! Hopefully you will take the comments as helpful suggestions and not as mean criticism. The intention here is to encourage photography, not to discourage it. The great learning tool of this site is the ability to see where your entry scores after all of the votes are in. This gives you an idea of the quality of your photo (judged by the peer group and not by the so-called "experts"and to learn from those photos that place higher. I have learned a lot by challenging myself to improve. Please don't take offense. Not intended. I did not know that it was your first entry. Welcome.
