interesting that you think that. I feel as though because it is welcoming, but missing people, it seems lonely, for there should be people there but aren't.
I agree with friski............empty is different to lonely. although, it could be said that a lonely heart is an empty heart.
I still feel like what makes it lonely is just that it's missing something (or someone for that matter) as if you expect to see a man reading his newspaper, and you look, and there is nobody. the lighting I also feel makes it a little eerie, and adds to the lonely effect
it would only imply loneliness if there was one person among many seats, but a couple of empty chairs is just empty
I still think that the dark lighting makes it lonely, but we're all entitled to our own oppinion

Shots like this can be hard to accomplish because the tones/shades tend to blend everything together. You, however, pulled it off beautifully. The added rough texture of the tree juxtaposed with the smoothness of the chair really helps as well. Top it off with an interesting subjecting matter and nice framing and you've got yourself a great shot. All the best!
Thanks bunches Magic! I first thought that putting a chair in a tree was ridiculous.
i might not have to take a wild guess on who took this fantastic photo before i vote...and i believe i am 100% right...=] gorgeous picture btw..my talented friend!

she doesn't look like she is crying or lonely, but rather getting a bug out of her eye while waiting for someone. Body posture and facial expressions are key to expressing emotions with people, and you have to pay very close attention to them, otherwise you are sending mixed messages.
Nice shot author! She seems very lonely to me.
If you disagree dem90 then red flag, no need for such harsh critique.
She was crying and lonely as we were walking over the farm she could not keep up with her older siblings so collapsed in a tantrum like state and got left behind. You are right body posture and facial expressions with people are important that is why this shot captures a lonely sadness. Thank you for your comment rsbgrl
