__.In cool weather, you can see wisps of steam rise from Calcite Springs—the pale slope near river level. There the Yellowstone River flows above a volcanic fracture zone that allows geothermal discharge to reach the surface. Chemicals from Calcite Springs’ hot water vents are slowly turning the cliff to whitish, yellowish pulp, very breath taking view. And a popular photo spot for tourists

Amazing shot! Can we get a hi-res if at all still possible?
I REALLY miss living there
I admit the area is absolutely beautiful and pristine but boy it is also very desolate, ha except for tourist.
The desolation is what I liked about it
Where did you live, west side or east side of the divide, my guess is the west side.
Even better in High res
I've been reading about the area with the caldera and geysers etc in the Yellowstone Park area etc. Beautiful place, beautiful photo. Good luck.
Howdie stranger!
