I love these little guys! What were your settings for this shot? there is a fair bit of noise in the sky, sky is always good for showing up noise. Also I'd probably suggest using a tripod or upping the speed as you can see ablur around the tops of the beaks and and outline around the far left bird. At first I thought it might be oversharpening, but I find I often have similar problem using my kit lens at the longest end of the telephoto.
