cmyk............not at all...........the moon will be reflected just the same as the mountains will be reflected, as far as the water is concerned, the moon is the same level as the mountains.
The moon is well reflected, but i vote for no moon. I think you introduced it to make the composition more interesting, but now it's a competition between the moon and the aurora borealis, and the image lost it's focus center. IMO the ship and Aurora would be more than enough.
i completely agree with greymval, you did a great job on the 'northern lights' so have the focus on that. I would go even further and dull the stars a little too.
You should check a few tutorials online about how to do this. Here's an example, but you can find better: http://www.rnel.net/tutorial/Photoshop/13207 . Another tip: desaturation filter.
This is a picture that I took of the IDS building in Minneapolis, Minnesota during the day time. I transformed it to a night scene. (5 years and 3674 days ago)
You know you totally missed the contest theme right? Was this picture meant for another contest?
author says:
Not really. The theme was about going from day to night. I took the picture in the day and turned it into a night time picture with fog. What is wrong with that?
Joeshaw was wrong, entry is on theme. I like the dynamic look of it, but that's not enough. It could use improvement.. for starters blur the edges, maybe eve use a gradient to make the top of the tower dissapear into the night. There's also a black rectangle in the bottom middle-which i don't get. Anyway keep it up.
Seems like the boat is colored funny and the glare over the right side of the mountain seems a bit bright.
this reminds me of photos iv seen of the northen light
Moon is too low to be reflected...
Yeah ky we all know you are such a genious man

yes, I agree with losing the moon..........the aurora is enough!
Extraordinary!
The opacity of the water reflection needs to be turned down a little, as it over powers the rest of the photo.
ok I don't mind the moon nice effort Author good luck
wow, this couldnt get much worse, could it?
