nice idea, but looks a little flat on your arm. I have multiple tattoo's on my arm and back and going from a flat image to your skin there is that gentle curve to your body that can be seen.
The lower part of the cross seems a little bit floating ... I think maybe you can play with the layer style and opacity like RickLaMesa said. And maybe try to use the liqufy to fit the tattoo better with the skin.
what cmyk is saying is to use the warp tool to put some shape and stuff into the image.....it is a good idea, but looks far to straight!!

Unfortunately I only have Adobe Photoshop 7 to work with, there is not warp transformation tool I will try to get a trial version of Adobe Photoshop CS2. Thanks a lot for your comments CMYK and adeincyprus
For this work no external source files were used.i just did with simple steps with filters and layer blend modes.. everything is in sbs (5 years and 3685 days ago)
I agree with Ponti that this entry looks a little simple. however there is a beauty within its simplicity. I agree with others also on the points of lovely lighting and colour usage

changes are already looking better. if you have time to play.. create an extra layer ( a play layer-one you can delete if it dones not work) and exlore dodge and burn tools. this will create light and shade within your image. I would start with setting of 20% . To create light and shade look at your original image and copy the same shading as on the body. GL.
Not bad, but as CMYK said the body isnt straight, so I guess the cross wont be straight either. Try the warp tool, otherwise liquify (but be sure that you wont distort the cross too much). Good luck!
At least make it more blue to make it look like a real tattoo...

the curve looks better.
change the layer style of the cross to overlay and lower the opacity

This doesn't look like a tattoo, try experimenting with blend modes such as overlay or multiply.
try to get a dark green color, most tatoos are that color.
nice try author. like the changes you made.
