As I converted this 'homestead' into the old covered bridge, I remembered how many times we took our children to see the covered bridges in our area. We ate a picnic lunch, and the kids hunted for crabs and just had a ball - without cell phones or computers to distract them. Those, indeed, were the 'good old days'.
