Oh how I hate when those airliners get in my way! I think maybe a secondary color on the big ship would add some interest. You don't even need the second or third ship...the big one alone tells the story. Just IMHO nice entry.

The idea is great.

Definitely a unique entry and unique take on the theme.

I like your UFO and it's in a dramatic setting. However, the water reflection doesn't match the vanishing point of the water itself. The huge UFO does not seem to be casting any shadow (light source for background seems to be high upper right). And I don't get the big cloud weirdly coming in to the center of the UFO. Also, the odd gradient border on the lower half is inexplicable and adds nothing to the image IMO. (Using the source image without correcting the slanted horizon/statue made positioning your UFO even more challenging.)

Agreed with Dan. Like the UFO, but not blended very well into the image. Remember, one thing is to make a UFO, another is to make it realistic enough that someone in high-def could not tell the difference.

Bit better now, but still kind of fuzzy. I think it's the clouds--it's impossible to blend them over all that realisticly. Perhaps a clear sky would make a cleaner effect? It's up to you. Also perhaps you should overshadow liberty entirely, as the UFO is directly above her.

thank you, gamemastertips, you're right, now she's in shadow, but I want the clouds to stay, so they 'go with her' up into the ship. I have sharpened the ship a bit also using the method in a tut I found.

Excuse me, jawshoewhah, but I certainly DID make some changes per the critiques, and took them gratefully. It is still MY chop, tho, and I left the things in that I thought it needed - IMHO.

I completely agree that in the end it's the author's artistic perogative to do whatever he or she wants (consistent with the theme, of course ).

nice work on the UFO.. but yes the other UFOs should be a bit sharp... I can understand that because they are far and taking in account the perspective they are blurry but don't you think its a bit too much.. you can copy the front one, transform it and play with the blur but not too much..

Beware using the same object again and again; if it's two objects in 3-dimensional space, if they have the same perspective and angle but are in multiple places it messes with the eye.

Good UFO. According to the light source, you wouldn't see its shadow. The police car needs a shadow too.

Thanks for the comments, cmyk46 this is a morning shot , sun is just above the trees and the casting both long and short shadows depending on the position of objects below.

That's correct. It's also why the UFO wouldn't have a visible shadow in this pic.

Nice entry! A small point... only the guy in the foreground left is looking at the saucer, I might try tilting the heads of the folks on the right to have them looking at it as well. IMHO

great use of your source image for the ship, but the small ports all seem to be facing forward as if the side is flat - maybe try to distort the ones far left and far right, otherwise, nice chop.

Funny it seems I'm the only one who noticed that the two major shadows, the fence on the left and both the object from the right side have completely different light sources. The shadows point to each other. Impossible. And as the egg said, no shadow for the police car or the UFO.
