Inspired by this quote:
There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.
Carl Jung
---
In case some of you wonder, how I interpreted this quote:
The nights and days shall be represented through the stars and the daytime background.
The curtain stands for the view you have for your own and also other people's lifes.
The girl represents the happy life, while her clothes stand for the "measure of darkness".
The two sad statues stand for the sadness, which is balancing the happiness.
The rope is in this case completely straight and not bend in the middle where she is standing, because it stands for the strength you need to have, when you feel sadness.
That is the same for the hands. They are part of the sadness, but they are balancing the happiness in form of the horses.

Very nice! This is from a tutorial, is it not? Looks quite familiar.
No, this is not from a tutorial. It is made up of random images and the given contest source.
Excellent job, there is a steampunk portrait tute out there, but the result here is very very different and certainly stands in its own right.
very cute... I'm waiting for Abby to show up from NCIS
I absolutely love this! High steampunk vote. A couple things, tho, it doesn't quite look like she's sitting in or on the brass thing, if you could somehow cut out the front and set her back into it a bit. Also, some kind of background, even if it's blurred might look more 'real'. Great job incorporating the other elements with this. If anyone knows where that steampunk tutorial is, please pm me. The overall look of this is very steamy!

Great!
(Just one little nitpick: I would have left the reflections in the goggles). Cool pic, though.
Interesting idea!
Ok I ove this, but what is she sitting on? GL
Oh alright. It was just because the tank/goggles/hat combo seemed to come from this tut: http://psd.tutsplus.com/tutorials/photo-effects-tutorials/how-to-create-a-steampunk-style-illustration-in-photoshop/
Good luck, author.
At a second more detailed glance, you did a really really awesome job with this.
great choice of images with very nice blending over all a great looking work
One slight thing maybe some sort of a texture on the umbrella maybe something like the brass or copper tank -- seem a bit to smooth as it is IMHO
Great imagination!! Excellent blend of sources.
Great job and Great blending.
Thanks for the comments everyone. She is sitting on a seat which is shown in the SBS. Reflection in goggles was removed because it was of a kitchen and I wanted to be able to see her sexy eyes. Background was left off because I wanted everyone to concentrate on the subject, a background could be too distracting. I like your suggestion Alan about the texture, I'll see what I can do.
Very nice total image!
Put a metal texture over the umbrella as suggested by Alan 2641.
Thanks for the suggestion as I think it has improved the image greatly.
It has improved it.
No more improvement is needed, you've got an excellent entry
Great improvement.

I really like this one! It's funky, most creative and well chopped.
I think the shadows under the goggles are a bit dark ( but it's IMO...) Great work!
