In this context your goal is to create a scene based on the "Aion game". This world, "Atreia", lives an endless torment caused by the three in game races: Elyos (angels), Asmodeans (dark angels) and the Balaur (kind of demons).
erathion: Fabulous idea Akassa... ( 5 years and 3538 days ago )
pearlie: WOW, what eye candy - not so much the figures, tho they're cool, but the backgrounds are amazing! there should be some great entries in this one. ( 5 years and 3538 days ago )
cabldawg71: yup this is going to be good ( 5 years and 3538 days ago )
RAZ0R: not sure about the word "identical" ( 5 years and 3537 days ago )
pearlie: does it have to be from that particular trailer? ( 5 years and 3536 days ago )
lchappell: This is a great idea akassa, looks like for once we are going to be able to get away with using a copyrighted image as a reference. lol ( 5 years and 3536 days ago )
k5683: should we post a screenshot of the selected scene? ( 5 years and 3532 days ago )
k5683: there are some amazing entries here! ( 5 years and 3531 days ago )

Very cool! The guy could never fit inside those towers, but maybe they're not for him. The tower and wall sides towards us could maybe look more like they're in shadow (i.e., follow the model of the guy).
You do such a good job with the overall feel of your entries. The only problem I see is where the left tower meets the ground. It looks like it was meant to sit on the ground? I would suggest to just mask it out to make it look like its behind the ground. If that makes sense.
author says:
DanLundberg and Chalty669 , thanks for your suggesstions. I have worked on shadow and placed left tower behind ground.
Not sure it exactly fits the fantasy theme, but it's very well put together, great boat drawing, too, and love the colors. (This isn't just running aground, this is running very hard aground! You just can't get good valet service in those parts.)
Author, maybe Kevin is right (if that shine we see in the middle-right is the light source)... And reflection is a bit sharp/hard (observe the clouds reflection). But it's a nice compo.
by the way , reflections and shadows are two different things
1.shadow is cast by an object in a way opposite to the light source.
2.reflection is the object viewed in a reflective surface .
so the reflection is not dependent from the light source, but from the angle of the viewer and the angle of the reflective surface.
So in this case i think the reflection should be almost parallel
....having sad that , the image is great i personally don't care much about reality of the unreal world it looks good and good luck
Clearly better. Going to the next level --> If you take your background pic, make a copy of the top half from the horizon line up to the top of the sky, flip it vertically, and position it over the bottom half from the horizon line down, then you will see that it's virtually a perfect match of the lake reflections. Ergo, the lake is a pretty good mirror that takes on some fun-house-mirror characteristics where it gets disturbed. Lessons for you: The elephant is in front of the clouds in the real world so it also needs to be in front of the clouds in the reflected world. A reflection of the sky whirlpool should be part of the bottom of your image. The spired temples amongst the clouds as well as the moon have to be reflected in the lake. Ripple filter and smudging will obviously be needed. Separate issues: The fish and shell seem dubious -- and virtually unnoticeable without a hi-res. I'd make all the spires perfectly vertical.
Thanks, i forgot to mention but this picture represents a main town in the asmodian land. http://ogrebear.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/aion-2009-10-19-18-34-00-04.jpg
