You're right in theory author, but it doesn't give a "OOB-feel". It's hard to feel the connection between the objects in the room and the painting. Maybe you could create a object in the frame that's also clearly coming out of it into the room (I think the star is now meant to be coming out of the frame, but that's hard to see). Like a space shuttle

Nah sorry i just don't see an OOB image here and im usually pretty open about oob's. It just looks like you stuck a bunch of different pictures into the room. I don't get the floating chairs either

Ok, it's surreal, but if you chose sea elements, try to add a marine fish - kingyo is from fresh water. The perspective of starfish and water on the floor need to be fixed, and water could be less transparent. GL!

I don't think the fish needs to be changed since its surreal, but I do think the water needs a bit of work. The water would start at the edge of the frame, not the middle. Good luck!

Not clear if it's on theme without a clear demonstration that there's an in-bounds alternative. Nevertheless, the thick shadows at the arm/page boundaries make the arms look unrelated to the book, especially the left-side hand which seems to be coming out of the spine/between pages of the book—what's that all about?

well, dan, it can be in bounds because the hands are reaching through the book in a desperate attempt to be freed...am i right?
