Techniques used:
Puppet Warp for the rope, lug and knot. Selective Gausian blur in the background, a bunch of image adjustments (levels, curves, Gradient map [yes, this isnt actually just black & white]), the filter "lightnig effects" & the burn tool to illuminate everything right. and quite a lot more, I cant remember.
