very nice building of the creatures and the saucers -- very nice sence of depth, shadows and light as well as the over all detail
Really nice use of source! Good luck!
I'm not soooooo fond of sci-fi, but your image is fantastic! Really nice.
shadow needs to be warped slightly to match the curvature a little more to the tunnel. Sweet chop Btw
this is so cool :3
SURVEILLANCE ROBO`S r back !!
:::life on d blue planet:::beep beep
Nice work! only thing is, creature shape is regular in Pxleyes....can try a totally new creature. I am sure you can do it (just a suggestion, this also nice). Good luck.
Best 1 yet!
GK, I have no idea what you mean.
A very nice use of a very tough source, & I have no idea what Gop means either. Well done author!
Creative use of source. The perfectly head-on perspectives of the saucers do not match (as currently positioned) the perspective [vanishing point] of the tunnel. While GK is correct that tentacled creatures show up pretty regularly in CBR entries on this site, I would also note that tentacles show up a lot in sci-fi films as well.
Good job. GL author. War Of The Worlds again......
ahhhh thats what gop meant was it? Then I disagree......birds, fish, flowers & robots are seen every week and could be in the unoriginal category. Metalic tentacled creatures from outer space??? I dont think they crop up often enough to criticize or debate the originality personally.
Love the concept. Good depth. Nicely done. In hi-res, you can see the edges of the "earth" composite with the moon (on both sides of the image - just to the left of the moon and the right of the earth) however. Aside from that, great work.
Blindscientist: Thanks for the observation, edges removed. You sure ain't blind, bro! (And I thought I had an eagle eye...).
Wonderfully fun image ... love the depth of field!
Oh dear. They're friendly...right? Great job!
Awesome! GL!
wonderful work .........
Ahhhh i so agree with the Geex about this...u made it well author, somehow i was sure that this was u,space is your region... I like this work, creatures are made well, and they are very interesting, rest of the image too...its very refreshing by IMHO to see something like this, not only flowers and death nature...well done author

This is classic fantasy meets Sci-Fi. A speculation of how the Emerald City Palace might look with a futuristic twist. Here surrounded by a magical aura
floating through the cosmos the city can move anywhere in the universe instantaneously.
Trees are from flickr, brushes from JennB all else is contest source and photoshop. (5 years and 3444 days ago)
ooh vote is 176, and view is 139?
I think you did a good job, putting the forms together, the perspective and the reflections look nice. I love it... good luck.
Oh, but I'm a very GOOD man. I'm just a very bad wizard.... hehehe
Very appealing concept. BUT Perfect symmetry is kind of boring. Looks more like some sort of futuristic, green-tinged silver tea set on a tray than a city IMO. I do like how the background provides a sense of place without distracting from the focus of the image. The trees-under-the-dome element is my favorite part, but I'm not sure what's causing the flare.
Dan.. the flare is Glinda crash landing her magic soap bubble into the side of the dome.. (she got drunk in Munchkin Land on Lolipop Guild Brandy and the mayor made a pass at her so she left in a hurry...
At times symmetry is desired by the artist or by the architect. Check this to see other symmetrical structures like the Taj Mahal, Lotus Temple, U.S. Capitol etc..: http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&biw=2505&bih=1287&tbs=isch%3A1&sa=1&q=symmetrical+buildings&btnG=Search&aq=f&aqi=g1&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=
This is purely fantasy art, meant to express an idea as I see it and hopefully entertain.
Edit: Thanks for the comments! Slushie... how did you know?
Symmetry is indeed the hallmark of very formal structures as that contributes to their dignity. Whole cities are rarely that rigid, however (and certainly not true of the Oz in the now-classic movie "The Wizard of Oz," for example). Nevertheless, you are completely free to express your own artistic vision just as I'm free to yawn. Good luck!
It's simply amazing and cool!... And dot!
i love it ,good luck
Beautiful!
Thanks again for the comments, I've added a step 5 to show the scale more clearly, obviously not a megalopolis, more like a cathedral sized space ship. @DanLundberg...I appreciated your first comment, you made some complimentary remarks and in spite of the snide remark I respected your point of view about symmetry. I responded only to point out my inspiration, I said nothing offensive yet you felt the need to be rude... bad form.
Like the image ... I think the symmetry adds to the surreal quality ... maybe it is just me. I like the whole effect. Great detail and well put together. Definitely feels like the Emerald City in Space Lovely!
Superb work!! love the color
Ditto what Arca said, and I love the green. Your step 5 - LOL re: the 'magic generators'. Very nice work, author. Anything scifi, shiny AND green gets my attention every time!
very nice construction author...best of luck

Beautiful.. and a very good job.... gl author.
Good work. wings are bit out of proportion(see the body angle and wings angle and also the size). correct it
@gop unless you know something I dont or have a special understanding with the mods I dont think "correct it" is the best advice at this stage, do you?....but yes I agree there are many flaws in this image mainly due to lack of time & I wasnt really happy with it & dont expect much from it. Thanks for you comments

Objects should have shadows as well as reflections.
Opps meant to edit my commment not delete it so here is is again
Balls are well done -- Perspective is off the tile would only come to a poit if the rear if the image was extremely far away. Bottom of box should relfect as the balls do and the edge of the box needs to be softened
thanks Alan... no time.. I've got to much on my plate.. just an image I saw in my head, watching to much discovery channel and history channel .. thanks for the support
