I suggest blurring the woman's shadow a little more and adding a gradient mask that gradually reduces in opacity, right now the shadow looks a bit too strong.
Overall as an image i think it's fantastic though The light.. the use of source.. the creature.. all look wonderful Well done!
Magnificent work author...i like the colors,effects,mood...simply perfect...Only one idea not suggestion,u could create some kind of light sphere at the top of the wand,to give the more effect on the spell...Instant fav from me and best of luck of course...
Great first entry! The blending is almost perfect, the low range or color works well on the mood and the idea is creative. Your style brings the fresh air to the competition and I see the potential in you work. I have few suggestions about the content of that image: since you want to show that she wants to fly, the spatial feel on the image is very important. All these birds are going to fly away or just flied not far from her. If you could add some other birds with different sizes, in different place of the DOF (depth of field), the topic will be emphasized more. Because she wears the dark clothes, it's better to make the brighter background. In your case, it's still okay because she's distinguishable, but if there are few bright clouds in front of her (background), this will be better.
One more thing maybe you've already known or not. The SBS is mandatory in the case of the source contest like this one, but in the theme contest without given source, the SBS is not mandatory, it's up to authors.
Wish you the best of luck with this entry, very well done, keep it up!

Thanks guys
@langstrum: Ya the extra birds idea is really good. The BG was brighter....but I reduced the brightness to make the ground look far above the valley. And I have submitted the SBS
Thanks for all suggestion and wishes I will try to update if possible.
edit: take cmyk's suggestion into consideration and also the birds have a bit of fragments left below them..clear it
-the right leg of the girl cant be so lit of from behind...add a little shadow to the left of the right leg...moreover the shadow of the bag also shud cause the right leg to get a bit dark to the right...so darken a bit to the right also..
-in high res the line of the sky can be easily seen in the horizon ...so with a soft and very low opacty brush merge it well
Very cool... I like the mood. But it's more to Hell than to Heaven, don't you think so?
author says:
Erikuri thr's a saying that the road to heaven is not an easy one..it is full of perils and evil...so i jst wanted to potray that...beyond tht castle gate is the kingdom of heaven but the road that leads to it is full of evil....
I really like this one author, nice work. My only suggestion is that the castle on the left probably looks a little too crisp given the foggy atmosphere, and draws the eye a bit too much, maybe just dull/blur it a lil bit.
I think the gap in the mist where the woman is, actually spoils the work that's gone into it...as it stands now...
the front hand needs to be blended in more at the bottom as you can still see the straight line, I'd also push the temple thing on the left further into the BG as your composition is leading your eye over to the right.
Some elements of this image are simply the perfect...selection of colors is amazing...positioning castle and the church is great...overall well done author
Very beautiful dreamy scene...I like the contrast author...warm and cold colors, positive and negative...well done

Thank you all!
Unfortunately I don't have time now to fix the background.
I will try it though during the weekend, even if the contest is over by then.
Hello Marina08. Your art "Between Heaven and Hell" has been a constant companion as a screen saver on my iPad since my daughters tragic death in 2012. I finally found you, the talented artist! I would love to purchase a print. Please let me know if this is possible. It would mean so much. My email is kheustis2015@outlook.com.

I wish I could help you, but I don't sell prints.
