I also have some suggestions: your figures have no shadows at the moment, so they look a bit pasted on the background. Considering that the background image doesn't really have a strong light source either, a very light shadow under their feet would be enough (at least that's what I would do, I'm no shadow expert myself )
And speaking of feet: the man on the right side with the fishing net has no feet at the moment. What you could, if you want to, is trying to either place him a bit more to the left, so he's with his legs behind the wooden step or maybe try to give him the feet from the puppet with the cage.
And one more small thing: you forgot to erase a part from the woman in the foreground. There is a part from the former background between her hands and the basket.

Thank you all...i gave the man boots....added the shadows...fixed the missed area on the flower girl and added a flower patch for her by copying some flowers out of the basket...

I like the placement of the people, but I agree the lizard head is too much, makes the image crowded. The people also could have used more shadows. But as for the image as a whole, its very nice, just don't like the lizard. But of course thats just my opinion.

Try to adjust the color to your source pic.

This can be done by selecting a part of the stone pedestal, make it a new layer and select the guy layer then go Image- Adjusments - Match colour and select the stone pedestal layer.
For realismyou need to put a shadow from the cage on his pants and place soem shadows/highlights. Pay attention to the shadows in the background when you make this.
EDIT: in case you're new around here, i should tell you that you can edit your entries (before the contest closes) by going to My stuff-My contest Entries, and uploading the new & improved image.

But as i can see , if no one else enters, you'll win the 3rd place, lol!

I think you did a nice job, I think the statue or "Puppet" looks to big, in proportion to the bottom part. Still I wish you good luck.
