NIce idea. Fits good into the source. Try to darken the white parts of the mountain (by his ear and hat) and maybe make his stone also with some straight "stonelines" it will be even better. But I like this a lot anyway! GL

Very imaginative, but the shadows are facing the opposite side of the rest of the image. Perhaps you should reverse the sailor's face...

Hello guys, and thanks for the heads up and comments. I see the shadows that are not all are in the right place, that's cause of original shadows, sun made, but I been fulling around with magic wand tool to select the shadow area, levels and brightness & contrast to lighten up the shadow area to look bright and not lose quality, like the other side. Im working on it.

Nice idea! I must nitpick and way that there are some masking issues that must be addressed. The coat isn't fully painted on the right side, the hair is painted over the coat and the hat is painted over the hair. Fix those areas and I will stop nitpicking. Good luck!

The statue blends well enough with the background, but the woman is totally out of place. The lighting on her does not match the statue OR the background, and since her face is not white like the statue, it just doesn't work, visually.

@Mossy i never thought Medusa had a white face

Author, with the girl you just need to tone down the saturation of her skin and blend her lighting in with your background image. Change positions of the girl and the sailor (swap them) then flip them so that the lighting is opposite, sailor should have his face looking the other way

Keiley, I never made the connotation that the woman was supposed to be Medusa! I thought her just a tattooed chick with a Russian Naval hat. I guess it was the hat that threw me off...lolol!

This entry was made on a mac book, in Photoshop CS5 and I felt very confused using Photoshop on a mac, Im back at home now and have a bit of time to play with this on my desktop.

As for the Swastika, I do not condone or support the ideas and beliefs of the Nazis, it was simply an idea.

I just got home and back on my good ol' windows based photoshop. I worked on the image a bit more, however I never saved my final .PSD file and had to do my final touches with the finished .jpg and an old save .psd (around step 4 on my SBS)

Welcome to pxleyes! I'm kinda confused about what your trying to achieve with this photo. Is it supposed to be a statue of hitler? If so why hide the swastika right behind him. You could've used any other background in that case.

Its supposed to be a Photoshop of the HMS statue. :p

Why use a swastika in the background? With Hitler as the main subject for the Photoshop, the mere insinuation of a swastika in the background holds alot of power, even if its not visible. Also, it makes better sense in my mind to used something that matches the theme i was photoshopping this into.

Good job with the shadows, funny idea. The source works well with the original.

Thank you sgc! It was not easy to match that shadow, since the image I used had the shadow going the wrong direction! also that stone texture was difficult to create, especially at full resolution.

Nice idea author! You blended the head to the statue pretty well. Although the cloning of the base for the statue could still use some work. If you used the original bronze statue in the source picture instead of the extra statue it would've saved you the trouble of cloning the background and the original source would more noticeable.
