When I try to visualize the video, i see something darker with red vines of lava , many broken chains, etc, etc. Oh, and WIND en masse !

Nice idea. Try making the wood part a little darker to bump up the contrast. Maybe add some shadows. Good Luck!

You could have:
-worked on some background- maybe using the wood as a table or some stone.
- make it look like an old papyrus and use/create more complex shapes.

But remember, Always have a background , a context for your main piece ! I learned that the hard way.
