Very nice mood, but there are too many duplicated balloons. They all look the same, and distract too much from the rest of the image. I'd eliminate the largest and the smallest, and place the medium sized one below where the largest one now is. That will help direct the viewer's focus around the focal point of the shoe and the girl.

I'd also tone down the red car, as it competes too much with the red shoe, directing the eye off to the side.

The edge of the steps where they meet the door on the shoe is too hard edged, looking very cut and paste, a bit of blur will help there.

Better, but changing the shoe to blue still has the car too dominant, because now your focal point of the shoe blends too much with all the blue of the background...
The steps look much better, though, and the balloons are improved.

I've only seen this version, but it looks good. Car seems small compared to the girl. Flip the small balloon so the highlight is correct. GL author!

Very nice work author with lovely mood...IMHO car is only thing that don't fit in this scene, but without the car that part of the image would be to empty...also car need darker under shadow, especially in back part cause now look like floating...fix that and u will have very cool image author...best of luck

I think there are many people confusing things.
I say this because of comments about size of the car, the girl ...
It's like tennis "home" was overlooked.

Everything is surreal, then, in my opinion, no matter if the girl is bigger than the car, if the balloons are similar, if the car is very small. It is a surreal theme, guys! But, is my personal opinion!
The work is fabulous! I loved it! Fav!

suggest blur n fade partially the balloons to the background, this will enhance the focal point on the girl n shoe-house...

I wonder what I did wrong here? How come the colors got washed out when I uploaded my final work? The last step on my SBS shows the actual colors I used.

Check the High Res author, the colors should be fine there.. very funny image, love the fallen laces

Funny entry with some nice details. Maaaybe you'd like to add a few more pages inside the newspaper so that it looks less flat (in your source image you ook more from front/ under to the paper, that's why you dont see the other pages, but in your image youlook more from up), but it's not a must either. Good luck!

All I can suggest is to re-define the upper left (our left) edge of the shoe so it stands out from the background...otherwise I love your image!

Very fun shoe choice. While converting a shoe into a home (a la the Old Woman who lived in a shoe) might not be that original, this home is very charming and realistic. However, I think the figures, among other elements, could cast stronger shadows plus the shoe could have greater contrast so it is even more clearly the focal point as required by the contest.

Very nice image with loads of positive energy...IMHO there is not much things to fix just maybe just slight blurring edges of the home/shoe cause in high resolution, especially with the zoom its visible difference between resolution of the background and the rest of the image...any how i like this image and i wish u best of luck author

I like this a lot Just a small nitpick ..there is too much luminosity rupture between the frog and the lizard..frog is just too bright imo...darkening the background, adding lantern at the back of the shoe (will match the lightning sources then) and little dodge and burn can make this image awesome..love how you blend the shoe in to the water though..anyway.. fav. from me

I really like this, too. It looks like it could be a scene from Frog and Toad stories, or Wind in the Willows. The frog looks like he has real weight on the shoe. Great job with that shadow there!

Just a couple of observations: wouldn't there be a reflection on the surface of the water of the shoe and the critters (maybe even some moonlight) like there is for the rocks in the center-right? Also, I don't think the "oar" would have that kind of drop shadow on the water surface. Wouldn't it be a reflection rather than a shadow, and somewhat rippled? One final observation: the moon should be solid. It can be dim if you like, but drifting clouds would pass in front it, not through or behind it.

Thanks for your tips, elemare. Changed the moon, put reflection of the twig and a very slight reflection too of the frog and shoe. I also darkened the frog a bit. Hope it's better!!
