Good choice. The black values on Gaga's face are too dark for the rest of the image though. If you lighten them slightly (Image>Adjustments>Selective Color>Blacks) to better match the darks of the painting, it will be more consistent.

Thanks...MossyB
made that change,its much better!.
The black lightening bolt is still the darkest, least noisy element in the image and thus does not seem part of the painting. More problematic is that a Renaissance Lady Gaga would change not only her hair but also her clothes. Wearing male military attire, for example, would no doubt have seemed outrageous at the time.
In the orginial it is said to be a meaning of love or marriage and documented in a portrait... I think it still has the same meaning only documenting something different.... that is so still going on today!
Edit @ CMYK...Thanks CMYK! This is one of the Ren's best... for shadows and lighting as such... I was seeing shadows and lighting coming from both windows.... I may have messed it up... but this is still a shadow and lighting spectacular that no other REN can match... original... lol... not me! But trying to go with the painting!
Maybe I shadow his ear and lip more? yeah?
Thanks CMYK... I always have trouble with reflections, shadows, and well darn most photoshopping.... but I truly take everything like a sponge and will hopefully keep improving...! Cheers everyone!
The lighting on his head is opposite the light in the original painting. The light comes from the window...you have the shadow on his face on the side where the highlight would be.
Good idea, but CMYK has a point. Also, I'd use the bigger version that can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Van_Eyck_-_Arnolfini_Portrait.jpg (click on the image for bigger version), so things are better recognizable and at least it's possible to clearly see the great painting from the terrific Van Eyck! Good luck!
The skin tones of the faces don't match the bodies - too pink and too light in value.
Very cute idea. The skin tones look OK to me (now?). However, I think even more Bieber hair-do would be good along with much darker hair on Selena.
Howdie stranger!
