I dont know what you have done with the quality of the picture but it looks a lot less good then the original, i mean the source ofcourse, your work looks fine the guys facial expression and his mouth and teeth look pretty well done, the tongue of the dog seem to have a dark outline, perhaps you can get rid of that and make it a little less bright so it matches the guy source better the expression is just great though holding off my vote incase you want to make changes

Doubling the size of the original image caused the distortion to the image quality but the effect was okay in my eyes (if you look at the original image you will see he was posing with a painted egg he was mimicking),

I fixed the black burn on the edge of the tongue (happens when I use a detail filter (hdr) and I didn't catch it. As to the brightness of the tongue, My friend had a black lab and when that tongue used to pop out of his head it looked like an alien from another planet so that was the effect I was looking to achieve.

Shrunk the entire image to tone down on the distortion and polished out the black line on the tongue from the filter. (I kind of liked it because it gave the tongue some rot, but I see it disturbs some people)

Maybe move the eye down a bit, it seems a bit high on the forehead IMO. Good luck author!

The mouth did change, check the SBS for that. And I would argue that eyes are a huge part of a smile. The entry is my version of an ugly smile.

You haven't really done anything to the teeth. It is all about the eye and is not on theme

I wish that person never smiled at me'. Did you ever get disappointed when you see an ugly smile. Just before that, everything looks perfect and just when it happened you feel dissatisfied.

Your job in this contest is to create the most ugly smile that comes up in your mind. Broken teeth, yellow teeth, huge mouth,... and even unrealistic things that you might never see in real life.
Be creative and create the most repelling smile you can think of!

Change in certain parts of the face ie. teeth is not required, it's recommended. I was creative and this is repelling. It is exactly related.

@eld81 Is that a serious question? Because it seemed like a sarcastic one. This piece depicts cycloptic baby boy so there is not a whole lot of seriousness going on. If you want to use your imagination this child is normal but when he smiles he becomes a cyclops, go right ahead.

i really like the perfectness of this image but its somewhat too perfect, the edge of the teeth could be a lil more wobly since they are teeth and never really 100%. however i gave you a high score its a great entry
