The Attic - Photoshop Contest [17 entries]
Contest goal:
My novel is getting published soon; everything is ok, but I have just a little problem; I don't have a proper cover.
I'm starting this contest as an appeal to all digital artists on this site; so that i'm able to have an attractive design. Your goal is to realize any one of the ideas listed below :
1 .A butterfly with one side of its wings decomposing into dust and smoke. The artwork should be of gray and dark tones. (Main idea)
2. A human figure in a kneeling *head on knees* position, alone in a dark room.
3. A well decorated mirror in the middle of various piles of boxes.
4. A golem of shadows/smoke standing on a field/hill with a lake in either background or foreground. Make sure your sources (if there are any) are copyright-free and that your work reflects well the theme of darkness. No lettering should be used.
Personally, I'd prefer digital drawings, but photoshop works are most welcome, and even slightly modified photography; everything as long as your artwork is convincing. Good luck to all and if any information is needed please don't hesitate to contact me on lamantine@live.com.
Any dimension would do; just note that the resolution of the original should be at least 300 dpi.
1st prize will be a signed copy of my book.

If your source has a Creative Commons License it must be either an Attribution or an Attribution-ShareAlike License, no other CC License is acceptable. One of the bests so far; I'd suggest you to darken the background a bit and add some more contrast. Anyway its still an amazing artwork! Good luck
