The number 8 was made using Illustrator.
The symbolism backing number Eight deals largely with business, success, and wealth. This is primarily due to the fact that Eight represents continuation, repetition, and cycles. Such elements are seen in arenas where success is obtained simply because of dogged determination and repetition by the practitioner. Also, matters of business and wealth largely depend on cycles to fulfill their manifestation. It’s like the snowball analogy: As it continues to roll, in gets bigger and bigger with each revolution. Difficult theme to work with, but did my best to come up with something.
Thanks to tanit-isis-stock and naught101 for the stock images at DeviantArt.
The pool cue image was taken by me and can be seen in the step-by-step. (5 years and 2922 days ago)

Well, I know that this round will be very difficult, I can see the 1st entry published, will not be easy! But we are here to participate! Good luck to all.
I made the number 8 as type, rasterize type and worked with lighting and Fibers filter (5 years and 2922 days ago)
Great start for this contest, author! I really like the simplicity and the surreal feel
And what I really like, is that you posted the link for the inspirational tutorial! Some people don't dare to do that, because they think they might look bad then, but that's not true. You made your own image out of it, just using the basic idea and like I said, you did a great job!
But you might want to check your source links 5 and 6. They are the same at the moment.
Good luck!
Great start, agreed
Thanks, Lelaina! I took out the hot air balloon, I don't think it fit with my title N8ure. Thanks for pointing out my links. I removed link 6 since I am no longer using the hot air balloon.
Looks good. Maby some clouds below and some roots?
Congrats on making it to level 2
What is the shadow reflecting off of?
I wanted to make the land look as if it were floating, so I added the shadow. I think it also gives it more of a surreal feel. Thanks for the suggestions oziipop, I will mess around with the image tomorrow.
I think it's perfect!! Amazing job!
Simply beautiful! I love the concept!
The light on the tree is from the right, the shadow of the land is directly below as if the light were from above. (Oh, and the light on the clouds is from the upper left...it pays to consider these things).
Thanks for all the great comments and constructive criticism.
Congrats for making it to round 3
Congratulations for making it to the next round....good luck!
congrats
