high-res definitely explains a lot.
my only remark is that the blocks from the inside are a lot blurrier than the ones from the margins, taking away a lot from the 3D feel of the whole thing. If you could emphasize the 3D look a little it would be a truly great image!
hey Inanis i hear ya, i wish i had time to look in to that. This image was much easier in concept than it was in execution. i found myself spending a huge amount of time working out the feasibility of this illusion with a photo realistic result . i hope i pulled it off enough to convey the idea. Thanks for your comments
