I would have preferred keeping the color in. I know it is harder to merge, but the image is now too soft (except for the meercat). Also, i'd suggest you'd make the edges of the womam softer, to merge it better with the background.

There is a barely visble second dove in the image. It looks like a mistake now and i think you could better remove it from the image.

I think maybe this needed a gradient soften effect as the meerkat appears to 'hard' amidst the rest of the scene

I'd've preferred the text to be absent. It kind of detracts from the rest of the feeling of the pic. Nice idea, good luck
