CMYK46: From the forum thread on contest suggestions: "Something not mentioned here, but which is important if you upload a source photo for PS:- make sure the image is sharp allover. DOF is basically not wanted." ( 5 years and 2541 days ago )
wazowski: Perhaps it's nicer to work with sharp-only images, in the other hand, DOF images are also a challenge. ( 5 years and 2535 days ago )

Thanks to dsleeter_2000 at flckr.com for the source photo used for background textures.
Source was used for flowers and to get body of birds. Please see SBS for details. (5 years and 2534 days ago)
Well done, nice dreamy color combination. The lensflare is no must for me (bit too artificial for my taste compared to the more organic shapes of the rest in the image), but that's maybe just me. The sirls on the left side look more elegant than on the right side (looks a bit too obvious liquified), but overall mission accomplished . Good luck!

Thanks for your comments. I meant to remove that lens flare and will still do it if I can figure out how. Thanks again!
Indeed, well done! The only thing I dont get well is why the white fur from the cat turned out a bit bluish. Personally I'd keep it (more to) the original color of the cat source. For the rest, nice masking! Good luck!
EDIT: imo looks better this way, author!
author says:
Thanks Waz, I made a subtle change to the cat color. Hopefully for the better.
Thanks to renarl from flickr, for the pic of the hands, and to robert.claypool also from flickr, for the pic of the butterfly. (5 years and 2535 days ago)
Conflicting light sources. The light on the hand is from straight above (12:00)...light on the tulip is from the upper right. Making the shadow between these two sources would save the image. GL author.

Thanks Bob: I added a shadow to the left coming from the tulips over the hand, just a little. Hope it looks better.....
