Everyone loves a blimp; and they can be made out of just about anything. So create your own out of whatever...a football, watermelon, a pet...really, anything. Or modify an existing blimp image to your own taste, and perhaps an environment of your own choosing.
Creative mix of blimp and message! The yellowy background noted by CMYK46 may indeed mute the impact as I find Step 8 of the SBS intriguing.
What bothers me is that the tail elements of the propane tank are slightly tilted [the blimp is perhaps making a right turn?], but that has not been recognized in the placement of the wings, rudders, etc. onto the tank. I also think a tiny hint of shadow where different surfaces meet is more realistic.
The blimp that you made using 3D Studio Max is very realistic. Given all the control that artificiality gave you over your final image, I have a couple of concerns, however.
Content: If I owned pxleyes, I would want to advertise it with my logo, not random rainbow-colored text.
Composition: Having both the blimp and the bridge mid-ground is kind of boring, made more so when the blimp blocks the view of the bridge. Moving the blimp to the upper-right foreground (thus making the blimp much bigger) leaving 95% of the bridge visible would be more dramatic IMO.
Clients often want their logo redesigned, I've done many new and redesigned logos myself. I saw this as a new logo design. The name has a rainbow of colors which can be associated with a pixel image, the tag line is incorporated into the design. This makes for a totally new logo concept and works well because of the high visibility. The overall image has the feel of a random snapshot which adds to the believability of the entry IMHO. Very nicely done author!

Thank you spaceranger, for recognizing this image being exactly as I intended it to be. A randomly taken photograph of an eye catching new logo design.
DanLungberger, if I had of placed the blimp high and to the right i suppose the drama factor would have been high. It would have placed the blimp and the aircraft this picture was taken from on a collision course.
My two cents: nice work, my eye is disturbed by the fact that the blimp seems to line up with the bridge in such a way that, at first glance, it almost looks as if it's part of it.
Great job I really like the lighting and the blimp is really inventive. It's the sort of thing I hoped to see when I suggested this comp.
Thanks, appreciate it!
Lots of fun! (The yellows in the foreground blimp would pop more if there were less yellow in the background.)
Thanks!
