I was thinking more of Plasma (like those lights in Texas). Light plasma in theory would contain their own light inside a field around themselves (Also I really suck at light projection, LOL)

That side of the building is already in shade. and the object looks like its on that side for the most part so it wouldn't cast a shadow on the wall... and if it did it certainly wouldn't be that prominent... especially the edges
