Great thinking author! There's a small erase stripe on the bottom of his right shoe, may want to clone that out of the image. Very good idea all round.

Like how you darkened the pants to make it look wet. Would be nice effect to add some splashes around the areas the water is hitting him. Good luck!

Nice job If I may offer some advice? You should be a little bit more consitent with your water reflections I think. The boat reflection is distorted and that is a nice touch but then all of your reflections should be the same. You have very sharp reflections under the shoe and under the boat but basically the whole image should be reflected equally in the water.

I really like how you did the water over the shoe!

You have a bit of a conflicting lightsource in the picture with light coming from the right on the gnome and from the left on the boat.

The shadow shoudn't be there on 'right leg/knee and face. I think the image without that shadows/dark shades will fit with whole lighting. Good luck

Extra points for the nice sbs! Nice effect with the smudge tool. Not sure if you're trying to go for real hair or not. If you were I might suggest using a smaller brush when you use the smudge tool. Or just add a new layer set to screen and use a really small brush to paint out some small wispy hairs. Having said that, you could have easily been going for a different effect. If so, ignore everything I just said.

Your work is always recognizable. Your a true modern day artist. I almost don't want to make any suggestions, because your work is so unique, it's just not my style. High grades for all the work.

Ok, I'm gonna make some suggestions. The structure of this beast is really good, but I would've left out the HDR effect and went lighter on the shading in step 13 of your sbs. After step 13 I would focus on a light source, where is it what direction is it coming from are there more than one? Every edge would then be highlighted to match these new light sources, along with shadows on the backside of those highlights. Lastly you've put too much work into this guy for it to get lost in the background. I would use a slight lens blurr to create more depth so This awesome guys gets the much attention he deserves. After all is said and done, your still one of a kind and I'm not saying to change your style. But if you did these are things I would do.
