Look at the shadows of the people in the background to determine your light source. (From our left) Duplicate the carriage on a new layer, fill the image with black, lower opacity and then distort/skew the shadow. Then blur & adjust opacity.
These should help: http://planetphotoshop.com/cast-shadows-vs-drop-shadows.html
Interesting idea. I might have made the carriage just a bit more transparent, but it works. On the SBS, possibly some written explanation would help. GL author.
(On second look, lightening or even eliminating the shadow could help the illusion, but that would be a LOT of work!)

thanks for your suggestion. I removed the shadow. (yes, it was quite some work )
What do you think, should I leave the shadow away completely or bring it back just a bit?
I also tried to tint the shadow to give it a "glassshadowlook", but it doesnt worked for me.
finaly I made the windows more transparent.
The "Illusion" Is spectacular. The only suggestion is Placing the original Mask on the top layer, then PAINSTAKINGLY erase the interior leaving the edges intact. I've always had difficulty with making "see through" and I've always find that having the edges present adds to the effect. GREAT IDEA ALL ROUND. Excellent in fact An absolute Masking nightmare, and you did it amazingly

It was a Nightmare but also a challange
Will see if I can do more about the edges. I also tryed alot but in fact it only made small changes to the Image and not really improvingly.

made some improvements and also added a additional highres version in the sbs (step 9)
The edges look fine to me, and the lack of shadow definitely improves the illusion. I'd still like to see more transparency, but that's up to you. Over all, a fine job.
Ok, here is go... FOR MY EYES ONLY.... I think the two eyes located at the upper right and left side of your image are kind of distracting. They take the view away from the middle eye and the pups. You have so many focal points here. The eye in the middle is good! The puppies are ok too. Just leave the attraction point to the center with the eye and the puppies, the curtains make the image together. Good luck, and yes, we ask why the computer brakes down and burn when you have to make so many layers.... you did a good job my friend....! Love this work a lot !!

I tried removing them, but then all the triangles vaporized. I had a kitten hanging between the puppies but it looked too "Hang In There Kitty Poster" looking. I understand what you mean George I'm just to worried I'll go TOO busy. LOL. Me.. too busy... now there's a first LOL Thanks Bud
